A customised off-campus course on land administration sponsored by the Administrative Training Institute, Arunachal Pradesh on land administration and resettlement. The course focuses on the procedural due diligence to be followed during the land acquisition process and resettlement exercise. Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R & R) is an entitlement mandated by law (RFCTLARR Act, 2013). Resettlement planning is a challenging task, quite often more challenging than even the giant physical or engineering project. Implementation of R & R requires understanding, responsiveness and sound planning. R and R should be ideally planned at the earliest stages of project preparation. The partnership course is thus developed to provide clarity on legal provisions of the land acquisition procedures and resettlement as legally mandated by the Courts, along with providing a holistic understanding of RFCTLARR Act 2013. Due diligence in the Land Acquisition process (slew of measures relating to Land, Acquisition Law, People, Technology etc.) helps avoid mistakes that result in huge time/cost overruns for projects.
