Mistakes in land acquisition often impose huge costs on organisations-manifold time/cost overruns besides reputational risks. Most often, such mistakes are avoidable, caused in part by ignorance of legal provisions, court judgments and in many other cases lack of adequate due diligence prior to acquisition of land. The Course will provide an understanding of the procedural requirements in land acquisition at various stages of acquisition process under various central laws and discuss due diligence measures to avoid common mistakes. The Course sees wide participation (80-100 officers) from various state governments and public/private sector organizations. This has emerged as the only national platform to understand country-wide practices in land acquisition, important considerations to avoid costly mistakes, critical planning requirements as well as the most recent case laws and court judgements.
